Introducing PerNum to PerNum email within the SafeZone.

The first step to communicate is that you must add and allow specific PerNums to contact you.
Unlike other email providers who allow everyone and you must block those who you don’t want or maybe you don’t even know and they access your info anyway, PerNum Email works in reverse where you must first, allow who you want to contact you and of course the other party must agree and reciprocate.

If you’re not on the whitelist with the sender, then as the receiver you won’t get messages from the sender. Both parties must approve each other to send/receive messages from each other, which is easy to do on the Whitelist Management page.

Services like Proton email for example, offer you end-to-end encryption but only if you are both Proton email users. With PerNum Email, both parties need to have a PerNum to communicate, and of course, you receive a PerNum when you sign up for your Pernum Pass, so you both need a Pernum Pass.
In addition, we know these other third-party email providers scan and read your messages for various purposes like advertising, or do not even deliver them at all for whatever reason. Not to mention poor security standards with emails getting hacked and worse.

PerNum Email is getting closer to launch, let’s see what it looks like and take a quick tour.

When you first log in, you will see 2 options:

Check Email
Email Management

The first thing you need to do is click “Email Management”.

Here you will add emails to your white-list.

• Emails follow the format: [PerNum]@pernum.email
• Emails are added in the top box (next to the “Add” button).
• Emails must be whitelisted for both parties communicating, or no email will be received.
• This is a closed system; messages never leave our servers.

From here you can click “Go to Inbox” to see your message inbox.

You can see here, there are lots of options, functions, and features for you.

• When there are no messages, you’ll see the notification at the lower right (all notification messages display in this area).
• You can see there is a light/dark mode for the inbox (maybe later possible for the Email Management section too).
• You can click “Manage” to get back to the Email Management area.
• In the “Contacts” section you can add details about each email address you have whitelisted for reference.
• You can create folders to organize your messages as you choose.
• Plus there are many other options, features, and functions; have fun checking it out when it is ready.

Why is PerNum Email set up like it is?

Something important to understand is that other providers scan your messages, even if they say they don’t scan the content.
According to an article published by Consumer Reports in 2021:

“If you receive emails flagged as spam or see a warning that a message might be a phishing attempt, it’s a sign that your email provider is scanning your emails. The company may do that just to protect you from danger, but in some situations it can delve into your communications for other purposes, as well.
Google announced that it would stop scanning Gmail users’ email messages for ad targeting in 2017—but that doesn’t mean it stopped scanning them altogether. Verizon didn’t respond to requests for comments about Yahoo and AOL’s current practices, but in 2018 the Wall Street Journal reported that both email providers were scanning emails for advertising. And Microsoft scans its Outlook users’ emails for malicious content.”
